Nestlé China Sales “Lead” Officially Confirmed, Will Integrate Coffee, Dairy, and Confectionery E-commerce Sales Teams; Dairy Business Also Set for New Head

At the end of 2025, food giant Nestlé implemented significant personnel and organizational adjustments for its Greater China business, aiming to consolidate resources and boost growth.

Key changes include the formal appointment of Wang Lei, the current head of the dairy business, as the Omnichannel Packaged Foods Retail and E-commerce Lead, effective December 1. She will report directly to CEO Markus Thänn and will temporarily continue serving as the acting head of the dairy business. With extensive experience in e-commerce and sales, Wang Lei is highly expected to drive synergistic development across all channels.

Simultaneously, Nestlé announced that starting January 1, 2026, the e-commerce sales teams for its coffee, dairy, and confectionery businesses will be integrated into a unified team under Wang Lei's business unit. Yang He, the current head of coffee e-commerce sales, will assume the role of E-commerce Lead, reporting to Wang Lei.

This series of changes signals Nestlé's move toward building a more centralized and efficient "large e-commerce" operational system. The background for these adjustments lies in the challenges highlighted by CEO Markus Thänn for the Chinese market: growth must shift from being "channel-driven" to "demand-driven," while effectively managing the increasingly complex online and offline channels to avoid internal competition and foster synergistic growth.

By "unifying its efforts," Nestlé aims to consolidate its previously fragmented e-commerce operations into a cohesive force, capturing a larger share in a market where online growth continues to outpace other channels.
